The mountains of Piedmont are once again the beating heart of major Alpine skiing events. From April 1 to 3, 2026, Sestriere will once again host the Italian Alpine Ski Championships, the most prestigious event on the national calendar, which awards the national titles.

After four years, the 2026 edition of the eagerly awaited end-of-season event returns to the Vialattea slopes in Sestriere, with the men's and women's technical disciplines. This is an opportunity to showcase the skiing heritage of the "Turin Alps," offering enthusiasts a high-level sporting experience.

The importance of the event for the region is also confirmed by the patronage of the Piedmont Region, the Piedmont Regional Council, and the Municipality of Sestriere, demonstrating the sporting, tourism, and promotional value that the Italian Alpine Championships represent for the entire Piedmont mountain system.

The Race Schedule

The technical disciplines will be held at Colle del Sestriere, with the Giant Slalom and Special Slalom events. The venue for the competition will be the legendary Giovanni Alberto Agnelli Kandahar Piste, an icon of world skiing, already home to countless World Cup races, the 1997 Sestriere World Championships, and the 2006 Turin Olympics.

This course, located in the heart of the Vialattea ski area, has written great chapters in the history of international skiing. Specifically, the Women's Giant Slalom will take place on April 1st, followed the following day by the Men's race, concluding on Friday, April 3rd, when the Men's Slalom and Women's Slalom will be held.

Attending this event will be a special opportunity to see the great stars of Alpine skiing up close. Since these competitions also count toward FIS points, athletes from foreign teams will be able to compete alongside the Italian National Team. While they won't compete for the Italian title, they will contribute to giving the event an international dimension, making the challenge even more exciting and spectacular.
